Evening is kept light — short family walk through the Katra market (buy prasad, shawls, local snacks), a briefing on the yatra process (Yatra registration, token/permit details), and early dinner to rest before the next day’s climb/drive. Hotel will provide hot water/blankets and basic medical kit on request (helpful for elders/children).
After an early breakfast, head to the Bhawan start-point (base of the 13.5 km route). Families can choose between: (A) the traditional foot/poni route with scheduled breaks and porter assistance, (B) battery-car/DEO (battery-operated vehicles) and palki services for elders/children, or (C) helicopter/poni combos (optional; book in advance). The operator will assist with Yatra registration and queue guidance. Expect the Bhawan darshan (Mata’s sanctum) in the later morning to early afternoon depending on crowd levels. After darshan, pause at Bhaironath (short distance from Katra) where the family can offer prayers — many families consider this a customary stop. Return to the hotel in Katra for rest; evening at leisure with a nutritious family dinner and short devotional session (bhajan/arti options on request).
Post-breakfast, do a light morning visit to nearby viewpoints or a brief additional visit to Bhaironath if you prefer to avoid crowds on Day 2.
