Best time to visit

Andaman Islands have a tropical climate so the weather is pleasant throughout the year but the ideal time is between October to May

  • October to March: Best season with calm seas, great for sightseeing and water sports
  •  April to May: A little hot but great for diving and underwater viewing
  •  June to September: During monsoon season, heavy rains and high waves make beach activities unsuitable

(If you want to enjoy festivals, then definitely come here during the Island Tourism Festival in January. During this time, the whole island comes alive with cultural programs and colorful pictures.)

How to reach

  • By Air: The easiest way to reach Andaman is to fly to Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair. Regular flights are available to Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, and Bangalore.
  • By Sea Route: You can also reach Port Blair from Chennai, Kolkata, and Visakhapatnam by ship but the journey takes 60-70 hours. So flights are the most suitable option for the journey.
